Day 2: SeaWorld

This morning we woke up early to take advantage of the amazing location of our hotel. And what better way to do so than to go for a little jog! We started out along the marina that was right outside our room and then came around the front of the hotel and ran along the bay. It was absolutely breathtaking-literally! Running in this humidity is much harder than in the dry heat of AZ! Here’s a pic of the trail we ran along the marina:

The total mileage of the run was about 3 miles, which was a perfect way to start the day. Especially for the Naval Ship we saw heading out to see just as we arrived back at our hotel. What a sight!
When we got back to the hotel, I decided I wanted to get some more pics of just how beautiful this hotel was. Here are some more of the lobby, the pool and more of our little bungalow:
We were in room 145...

This is the lobby right when you walk in the front door.

After we showered and got ready, we headed out for SeaWorld. On our way there, we stopped and picked up some Subway so we wouldn’t have to buy lunch in the park. We also had to stop and get Jason some new shoes! He was going to go to SeaWorld in his running shoes, which may have never dried if he got them wet, so some new tennies were in order. After that, it was just a short 1 mile drive to SeaWorld, and we got there right on time.

The day at SeaWorld was just amazing. The park was barely even crowded, so we hardly waited in any lines the entire day (only one, actually!). We got to see every single show in the park, and ride every single ride. We also went to all the exhibits and aquariums and we got to pet starfish and bat-rays. Here are some pictures and videos from our awesome day at SeaWorld:

Inside the skyride, our last ride before heading out,

We left SeaWorld at about 5:30 so we could head out to Anaheim on the next leg of our trip. We decided to get off the I-5 just outside of San Clemente so we could continue on HWY1. This was the best decision we made all day! We drove through amazing little Oceanside towns like Dana Point and Laguna. When we came upon the Capistrano Beach, the sun was just setting and we made a last minute deicison to pull over to the State Park on the side of the road. The moments that followed are ones I will never forget. The sun was just coming out from under the clouds on it’s way down, and the sky was illuminated with millions of colors as the sun set. We took a few minutes to take a few pictures and take in the view. It was this moment when I was so thankful this was what we decided to do for our honeymoon. I am so looking forward to all the times we will pull over on a whim like this and get to see sights like these:

When we got into Anaheim, we found our hotel without any trouble and were glad to see how close it was to Disneyland (less than 1 mile). Our room is amazing (AGAIN!). We have a two room suite complete with a full kitchenette, a living room with a couch and dining table and a separate bedroom with the bathroom attached. As I type this, it’s almost 11:30pm, and Jason is sound asleep in the bedroom. The great thing is, I am sitting at the kitchen table, typing away with a cup of decaf just reminiscing about the day, and I’m not disturbing him at all. Here are some pictures of the room:

I am so excited for Disneyland tomorrow! Jason has never been, and I absolutely can’t wait to see his face when we explore our way through the park! I’m sure the pictures on tomorrow’s post will be priceless. Until then, good night!
